Super Familiar with The Wilsons
Marriage 2.0 with kids…and all the side quests!
Super Familiar with the Wilsons is a weekly comedy podcast about second marriage blended family life, and the beautiful chaos of parenting, aging, and figuring it all out (again). Hosted by Amanda and Josh, partners in life, love, and side quests, each episode dives into real-life stories, quirky observations, listener emails, and spontaneous tangents that somehow always circle back to relationships, resilience, and the absurdity of modern life.
Whether you’re navigating your own second act, raising kids who don’t want your help, or just wondering why birds seem to aim for your head, you’ll find humor, honesty, and heart here. Expect: offbeat storytelling, second-marriage dynamics, parenting fails, philosophical detours, and new friends you didn’t know you needed.
Familiar Wilsons Media produces content to bring people together. We are curious, hopeful, and try not to take ourselves too seriously...admittedly, with varying degrees of success.

SPEAKER_00:I'm very excited to talk about this first movie. It's the long-awaited sequel to The Godfather called The Godmother. It's finally been released after spending decades locked in Al Capone's mother's vault. This is one of those things where the rumors were flying around Hollywood for years and no one knew if this thing even existed, but finally the estate of the late filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola was found the movie, restored it, and finally released it. What's that? He's not dead. Oh, he's not dead yet. He's still alive. He's 84. Okay. Well... Someone released this movie and I was able to attend an advanced screening. And let me tell you something. The Godmother does not disappoint. Now, it's surprising because I never would have thought that a movie about an Italian grandmother running a mafia family would be so entertaining. But I will tell you this. They nailed it on the casting. Betty White as the godmother? Genius. Who knew she had such a dark side? I mean, I had an idea. I mean, some of those early Golden Girls episodes before they had really nailed her character, she did kind of have a bit of an evil glint to her eye. Betty White really brings it here. And the rest of the cast, amazing. I never thought I'd see the day when Snoop Dogg would play a hitman named Snuff Daddy. But here we are. And again, he delivers an absolutely knockout performance. The plot, well, it's pretty much the same as The Godfather. Why mess with a winning formula? But there are some tweaks to the plot. Instead of a horse's head left in the bed to intimidate someone, there are handmade doilies, which, if you think about it, what could be more psychologically unsettling than finding a strange doily in your bed? Instead of the line, I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse, it's I'm going to make him a cheesecake that he can't refuse. Again, makes a lot more sense to me. And lastly, instead of leave the gun, take the cannoli, it's been changed to leave the gun, take the suppositories. It works. And the soundtrack? Who knew that That's Amore is best remixed into a trap beat? Banging! Overall, The Godmother is a cinematic masterpiece. It's entertaining. It's got Betty White running the show. What more could you ask for? And so I, Josh Wilson, give this a rating of 5 out of 5 suppositories. So, until next time, when you're at the movies, I'll be watching. I'll be watching the movies. is what I meant.
